Our Project / Nuestro proyecto

This project aims at investigating the way young Spaniards and young Icelanders live today: what problems worry them; how they use their free time; how they would like to change their home town; What they think about friendship, about speaking other languages, visiting other countries, learning other cultures; what food, what music, what clothes, what activities, what sports they like; what relationship they have with their parents, with their teachers, with their town authorities, etc.

First of all, the students at both ends chose the topics they wanted to work on with their clasmates at home and in the other country. Then they got in touch through the etwinning platform to introduce themselves, know each other and work on their chosen topic. The results of this joint work (powerpoint presentations, podcasts, videos, picture collections)can be seen and heard in this blog under the labels on the right hand column of this page (Topics in the blog). Above that list, you can also find links to other sites the students have used for their joint work, namely:
Etwinning Space: where you can find the first folders with introductions and the first set of projects. The etwinning platform was also widely used to exchange information through the forum in the first term.
Voxopop: a podcasts program students and teachers used to exchange information orally during the second term.
Magazine factory: an e-magazine used to publish articles written by the students and also their conclusions on the experience of the joint work on the project "Are we so different? / Y tú ¿Cómo vives?".

Este proyecto pretende investigar la forma de vida de los jóvenes islandeses y los jóvenes españoles: cómo viven los jóvenes islandeses y los españoles hoy, qué problemas les preocupan, cómo ocupan su tiempo libre, cómo quisieran cambiar su ciudad, qué piensan de la amistad, de hablar otras lenguas, de conocer otras culturas y países; qué música, ropas, comidas, actividades, deportes les gustan; qué relación tienen con sus familias, con sus profesores, con las autoridades de su ciudad, etc..

En primer lugar, los alumnos eligieron el tema que querían trabajar con sus compañeros islandeses o españoles. Después establecieron contacto a través del foro en eTwinning para presentarse, conocerse y para trabajar juntos el tema elegido. Los resultados de este trabajo conjunto se presentan en este blog bajo los títulos se encuentran en la lista a la derecha de este blog. Allí se encontrarán presentaciones en PowerPoint, Videos y Podcats donde se refleja el trabajo de los estudiantes. Sobre esta lista, se pueden encontrar también enlaces a otras plataformas en Internet que ayudaron a la realización de este proyecto, véase:

Etwinning space : que contine los primeros contactos de los alumnos y la elaboración de las carpetas electrónicas con los temas del proyecto.
Voxopop: un programa de podcasts que permitió la comunicación oral entre los profesores y los estudiantes.
Magazine Factory: una revista electrónica que sirvió para la presentación y edición de artículos escritos por los estudiantes. Este medio permitió también, presentar las conclusiones de los alumnos sobre el tema del proyecto are we so different?

St Valentine's multicultural party. Fiesta de la amistad.

On Friday 12th February, the day when love and friendship are cellebrated the students and teachers of Antonio Machado had multicultural and multilingual San Valentín's party.

Some students from different countries (we are a multicultural school) told us in their respective languages how the date was cellebrated in each country and what their opinions on this special day were. Then we opened the "invisible friend" presents and the box our Icelandic e-classmates had sent us with sweets, CDs and little presents from their country.

We really enjoyed the different sweets and used the garlands and postcards for decorations. Some students organised a workshop for making postcards to say thank you for the presents received. And we had lots of delicious snacks and sweets!
As you can see in the photos, the room was decorated with many garlands and drawings made by the students and after the party everybody helped with the tidying up.

Friendship Day party /La fiesta de la amistad. Clase 4D

El día 16 de febrero celebramos en Verzlunarskóli Íslands "La fiesta de la amistad". En este día, los alumnos de la clase 4D, abrieron una caja sorpresa que sus amigos españoles les enviaron, para celebrar el día de la amistad. En la caja sorpresa se encontraron toda clase de regalos: llaveros con motivos españoles, camisetas, dulces españoles, discos compactos con música popular española, polvorones, poemas, canciones, etc. Los chicos islandeses tuvieron la oportunidad de probar algunos de los dulces típicos españoles. estuvieron hablando de sus compañeros de trabajo en España y tuvieron un muy buen tiempo.
¡Gracias España por la caja sorpresa!
